India has a big market for bikes and to seize this market a number of two wheeler manufacturer are planning for new bike launch in 2009 in India. India's second largest two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj is also ready for its new bike launch in 2009 in India. Bajaj Auto is set to launch six new bikes in Indian market in 2009. Bajaj Auto plans to one new bike launch in India every month for the next six months beginning January 2009.
Bajaj bikes that are expected to launch next year in India are - new facelifted Bajaj Pulsar 220cc, new Bajaj Pulsar 200 FI, Bajaj XCD sprint and Bajaj Blade scooter. Bajaj also aims to launch its new low cost product that might be christened as Steel. There is one more unnamed model in the models portfolio that might be launched next year.
From Bajaj's product portfolio one new bike launch in India in 2009 is Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si, that was launched on January 21, 2009 to directly target Hero Honda’s best-selling bikes Hero Honda Splendor and Hero Honda Passion. To boost its sagging sales, Bajaj Auto said that it plans for one more new bike launch in 2009 in a new 135cc sports-commuter bike segment. The bike is powered by a 135cc engine will be priced around at Rs 45,000 to target Hero Honda Passion. Bajaj XCD 135cc DTS-Si is equipped with number of features than those in the existing Bajaj Pulsar bike, like a 5-speed manual gearbox, a 10.5 bhp power output, 65/70 kmpl mileage, a digital instrument panel, nitrox gas rear suspension, low-friction front suspension, aggressive twin pilot headlamps and LED tail lamps.

Honda CBR 1000RR and CB1000R to launch in India
The leading two-wheeler manufacturer, Honda to launch CBR 1000RR and CB1000R in India, its two new superbikes on 27th February 27. These superbikes Honda CBR 1000RR and CB1000R will be initially sold in the four metros Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. Honda exclusive stores will cater these superbikes exclusively to demands for these bikes.
Honda is set to expand these superbikes stores to other cities in Stage 2 and will also account for the servicing and other issues related to the bike. The expected price of Honda CBR 1000RR is around Rs. 12 lakh and Honda CB1000R might be priced at Rs. 10 lakh. Initially Honda had announced its plans to launch super bikes in India before the end of the current fiscal.
Suzuki to launch new bike in India
The leading motorcycle manufacturer of Japan, Suzuki to launch new bike in India. Suzuki is slowly but steadily tightening it's grip over the Indian motorcycle industry. Suzuki has recently launched it's cult superbike, the Hayabusa and cruiser, the Intruder to improve its brand image in India.
Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd.(SMIPL) is targeting to capture 10% market share in 150cc segment with the launch new bike GS150R - it's first 150cc bike and as it has joined hands with Allahabad Bank to provide loans to the customers.
Suzuki plans to invest around Rs 150 crore over a period of 3 years in India to ramped up its production capacity from 1.75 lakh bikes to 4.5 lakh bikes per year. The company official said that over the next three years, Suzuki launch new bike. In bikes segment, it might be in the 110cc, 125cc, 150cc and 180cc segment. In scooters segment, it would be in the 125cc or 150cc category.
Honda Activa Deluxe
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Limited (HMSI) planning to launch new Honda Activa Deluxe, the newer version of its most successful scooter Honda Activa. Honda also plans to launch a mass market vehicle in the current fiscal year (2008-09), but Honda still not disclosed any information about that vehicle. The new Honda Activa would be launched in two variants, Honda Activa and Honda Activa Deluxe.
The new Honda Activa Deluxe will not only be the facelifted version of Honda Activa with sticker job it will also be equipped with newer engine of Honda Avitor. However, the variomatic transmission would be carried forward from the current one. Honda Activa Deluxe would be the top end version of new Honda Activa and would launched with new features and with extra premium.
Honda is also planning to introduce some new advanced features with the launch of new Honda Activa Deluxe. It is expected that new Honda Activa Deluxe would be launched in India by the end of April 2009.
Honda CBF 150 and Unicorn to launch in India
Honda CBF 150 and Unicorn to launch in India in 150cc segment. The leading bike manufacturer Honda now plans to launch Unicorn limited edition models. The new model of Honda Unicorn will be loaded with the sleek body graphics and advanced features. Honda already launched the Grand Prix edition of Honda Unicorn last year. Honda Unicorn Grand Prix edition was the first bike in Indian bike market which was launched with repsol colors and fluorescent orange alloys.
Honda also plans to launch Honda CBF 150 to compete with the recently launched Yamaha FZ-16 in 150cc segment. Honda CBF 150 will be launched with sporty design and fatty rear tyre. Honda CBF 150 was the first bike from Honda in India that was launched with the fuel injection technology. Last year Honda imported few numbers of Honda CBF 150 for Motor Sports racing event in Irungaattukottai where these bikes showcased. Honda disclosed little information about this bike and is preparing for a formal launch of these bikes.

The new Bajaj XCD Sprint 135cc DTS-Si launched with a the own patented DTS-Si technology of Bajaj. Bajaj XCD Sprint 135cc DTS-Si launched with a 135cc 4-stroke, air-cooled, DTSi engine with a 5-speed manual gears that produces 10.5Bhp power. The new Bajaj XCD Sprint 135cc DTS-Si will be available in the highly competetive price of Rs. 45,000 (as ex-showroom price).
From the Aurangabad based manufacturing plant of Bajaj Auto Ltd. in Maharashtra, the first batch of the Bajaj XCD 135 DTS-Si will be rolled out. However the subsequent production will take place in Bajaj's Pantnagar manufacturing plant in Uttarakhand.
Bajaj Auto Managing Director, Rajiv Bajaj said that, the company also has plans to export its bikes from April this year. Until the start of the export process Bajaj XCD Sprint 135cc DTS-Si would be sold in the domestic market, Mr. Bajaj added. He also said that, the Bajaj XCD Sprint 135cc DTS-Si launch would fill the vacuum of Bajaj Auto's portfolio between the low-end and high-end motorcycle markets.
Bajaj Auto will launch the most-awaited Kawasaki Ninja 250R in the mid of this year. The two other models, which will jointly developed by Bajaj and Kawasaki, will be launched next year.
